– November 2016 TOT Participant
Are you a trainer who is looking to:
- Incorporate transgender topics into your current work?
- Expand your transgender expertise?
- Hone your training skills on transgender topics?
- Receive detailed guidance on best practices in teaching transgender content?
- Finesse your responses to FAQs?
- Better manage resistant participants?
- Utilize the best teaching methods to match your goals?
Dr. Eli R Green, TTI founder and co-author of the award winning The Teaching Transgender Toolkit: A Facilitator’s Guide to Increasing Knowledge, Decreasing Privilege and Building Skills will be leading a specialized Training of Trainers (TOTs) for trainers who would like to increase their success with teaching transgender topics. Participants will receive training in the current best practices in teaching transgender content, have opportunities to practice teaching, and will receive customized guidance to support implementation. Our trainings draw participants from all over the United States, and a wide variety of implementation settings, including: K-12 schools, diversity trainings, colleges and universities, public health organizations, direct service and community based organizations, and corporate environments. As a part of this TOT, you will have an opportunity to network with and learn from other trainers who are doing similar work, while expanding your knowledge and skills in a transgender affirming learning environment.
Registration costs for the 3-day training include a copy of The Teaching Transgender Toolkit, lunch from local businesses on each of the 3 training days, and a contribution to the scholarship fund to help support individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend the training. The cost of attendance is $600 for individuals who are paying independent of an organization, and $750 for individuals who are having their costs reimbursed or covered by an organization. We also offer a student/early career professional rate of $450 for current students and those who have completed their degrees in the past 2 years and are not being reimbursed by an organization. (Please note that proof of enrollment or graduation may be requested). Payment can be made through Paypal. If you need an invoice or would prefer to send a check, please email us and we will get that right over to you. Once you have completed your payment, you will be directed to a participant survey to finalize your attendance.
A limited number of scholarships are available for those who need financial support to attend. Priority will be given to trainers who are: transgender, people of color, from under represented/high need areas, have loved ones who are transgender, and/or do not have sponsorship from an organization to attend. The deadline for scholarships for the January 2018 TOT is November 15, 2017. We will review applications and notify applicants by December 1, 2017. Please click here for the scholarship application.

“Thank you for such a brilliant training. I wish I had better words to describe how meaningful the past three days have been. I learned more this week about how to be a better trainer of adults than I have from any other training.”
